In October 2010 JobFinder.am Career Portal and Banadzev Company signed a contract according to which in every telecast of new television season a unique and exclusive statistics about Armenian job market will be announced in the Interactive weekly TV program produced by “Banadzev” Company on the First Channel of Public Television. The online version of each program can be found at News Section of JobFinder.am.

On June 9, 2010 JobFinder.am career center took part in the Digitec Business Forum 2010 organized by the Union of Information Technology Enterprises of Armenia (UITE). The forum aimed at promotion of using of the informational and telecommunication technologies in the economical and other spheres. It was also to present both Armenian and international IT products and services aiming at modernization of other spheres. On May 15, JobFinder.am career center participated in the expo called “Day of Career and Information”, organized by Yerevan State Linguistic University after V. Brusov. JobFinder.am career experts organized seminars for “Save the Children Federation”. During the session JobFinder.am representative Lilit Babayan provided information on how to use JobFinder.am career portal to apply for the vacancies. She talked about proper manners in applying for a job and passing an interview. Hand out materials with tips on how to create proper resume: what include and what to avoid in resume; how to apply for jobs, how to behave during the interview and other career advancement related topics were distributed to the participants.

On April 22, 2010 JobFinder.am-One Click Career Portal’s CEO Arman Margaryan met Hayk Chobanyan, Director of Nork Information-Analytical Center. The objective of the meeting was to develop the technical opportunities and cooperation in the nearest future.

On April 20, 2010 JobFinder.am participated in the meeting held by the Ministry of Social Security and Employment of Armenia. The objective of the meeting was to discuss and promote effective partnerships among State Employment Agency and 12 Recruitment Companies. The final agreement was to make these types of meetings more frequent in order to discuss issues concerning employment service improvement and widen the frames of mutual cooperation.

JobFinder participated in B2B held in Skopje, Macedonia on April 7-8 organized by Regional Competitiveness Initiative with support of USAID. The aim of the event was to bring together representatives of IT companies, thus giving them an opportunity to meet and establish business relations.

On March 25, 2010 JobFinder.am-One Click Career Portal’s CEO Arman Margaryan met Marianna Piloyan, HR Manager of Lugera Recruitment Company. The objective of the meeting was to discuss and promote the frames of further and mutual cooperation.

The Team of JobFinder.am celebrated their New Year on 29 December at Bowling and Billiards Entertainment Center. Although not all the employees knew how to play bowling we had spent a wonderful time and succeeded in taking part in the contest held by Arman Margaryan. After 90 minutes of playing bowling we had dinner and played MAFIA. In a word we’ve made out well with the party.

On 29th of December an award nomination took place at “IT Park” business center. During the query with the members of the business center 14 companies received grants and souvenirs from 12 nominations. “The Company with the most polite staff” nomination was granted to “JobFinder” Career Center. We are very glad and promise to remain such one forever.

JobFinder.am took part in the conference-meeting held between the renting companies in IT park Business center. The main reason of the meeting was to give a chance to directors to meet with each other, to get informed of the activities of the other companies in the same building as well as to discuss the issues of mutual interests, to share their worrying and to make suggestions. During the first part of the meeting, the representatives and directors “exchanged” with the information then were informed about the new additional services of the business center. During the second part of the meeting, a discussion of tasks with mutual interests was held. Various issues were raised: security, parking, heating, electricity, reception, administration and other issues. Each issue was discussed separately and comments were made on each of them by responsible staff: the separate list of issues and offers was prepared on which the management of the center promised to give a solution to each of them.

JobFinder.am participated in Georgian IT Innovation Conference and Georgian IT Innovation Event (GITI 2009) taken place on October 29-30 in Sheraton Metechi Hotel. The objective of the conference was to establish and promote effective partnerships among the public and the private sectors, associations and other IT organizations in the Central and East Europe, Baltic States, Caucasus and Middle Asia region to promote innovation and competitiveness. The conference concluded with an awards ceremony honoring industry efforts to introduce and implement best practices in the IT sector in Georgia.

The official data of the RA National Statistical Service on December 15 is the following: 74.9 officially registered unemployment was recorded in Armenia in 2008 – a 0.8% decrease as compared to the corresponding period of last year. The RA National Statistical Service reports that Armenia’s economically active population was nearly 1121.6 in 2008. On the 8th December at a press-conference Sona Haroutyunyan, the Director of the State Employment Agency under the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Issues, announced that in case of increase of the world crisis, the level of unemployment in Armenia will increase maximum by 1%. She stated that four enterprises (Mining companies of Agarak, Alaverdi and Khapan and Yerevan Scientific and Technical Centre) turned to the Agency informing they are going to have a staff reduction (1655 people). The RA authorities are negotiating with the owners of the companies to decrease the staff reduction in the spheres. The State Employment official data on 1 November, 2008: the Agency managed to obtain job for 3941 unemployed, train 1400 specialists, decreasing the level of the registered unemployed people by 6.3%. Currently there are 6000 vacant positions recorded by the Agency for 218 professions.

During the session JobFinder.am representatives presented current job openings in the market and provided information on how to use JobFinder.am career portal to apply for the vacancies. Hand out materials with tips on how to create resume, how to apply for jobs, how to behave during the interview and other career advancement related topics were distributed to students during the session.

JobFinder.am career center in cooperation with CAPS participated and sponsored Tourism job fair, which took place at European Academy in Yerevan. During the fair JobFinder team presented current vacancies in tourism sphere to job seekers and provided career counseling to job seekers in relation to proper resume writing and job search strategy.

JobFinder.am career center organized series of free career seminars for graduating students of different universities. Total number of participants exceeded 500 students this year. During workshops JobFinder experts provided information on how to create proper resume: what include and what to avoid in resume. Students were provided information on job search strategy improvement. JobFinder experts talked about proper manners in applying for a job or passing an interview. Free hand out material prepared by JobFinder.am career center was distributed to students to summarize the educational material. Hand out material was distributed to job seekers, which included current vacancies and tips on how to properly write resume and apply for jobs.

JobFinder.am career portal organized official presentation conference series to present the portal to top employers of Armenia. Presentation Conference took place at the BASS Hotel in Yerevan Armenia. Hiring managers, directors, HR representatives of more than 100+ companies attended the conference, where the portal and services offered by JobFinder.am were presented.
